precise pathology, the one devoted to target specificity, is discounted by many who maintain that such idealism is misplaced and does not influence outcomes. We would like to commend the authors of the article on anatomical flow patterns in the lumbar epidural space for providing further evidence that target access is critical for success (1). The authors have once again shown that parasagittal interlaminar epidural steroid injections are more likely to place the injectate into the ventral epidural space (1-3). The logic and the evidence are aligned. What is even more striking in these studies is the correlation of clinical success rate with the rate of ventral epidural access by the injectate (1,3). In contrast, the problem of imprecision was demonstrated by the New England Journal of Medicine study on spinal stenosis that compared outcomes for epidural steroid plus local anesthetic to those for local anesthetic only. Target identification and access became subservient to routine practice. Construct validity was lost. No differences were to be expected. No differences could be found (4). Of course, a study rooted in precision could arrive at the same results; those results would however be more translational. A parasagittal approach merely implies anything off the mid-sagittal plane. Indeed, only a closer scrutiny of these articles reveals that the needle was in fact placed in the most lateral section of the interlaminar opening. A busy practitioner may Brief Commentary

Analysis of spatial vulnerability of threatened strategic urban centers from the point of view of passive defense (case study: Bojnurd city)
Background and objective: Safety and security against threats is one of the most basic principles in order to achieve the desired standards of urban comfort, and attention to the passive defense of cities against external threats has always been considered since the beginning of the formation of cities. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide management strategies to reduce the exist...

BACKGROUND: The passive defense approach is one of the approaches in planning and organizing cities and residential complexes with the aim to reduce environmental hazards. Given the vital and sensitive position of cities, while preparing against military invasions, this approach provides special capabilities to cope with natural and human crises to a large extent. METHODS: This was an applied s...
متن کاملEvaluation of Biochemical Response and Defense Mechanism of Wheat Antioxidant Enzymes to Salinity Stress
Understanding the reaction form and biochemical response of wheat cultivars about the salinity stress can help to better understand the defense mechanisms and identify the indicators and biomarkers of tolerance screening for salinity stress in this strategic plant and other field crop. For this purpose, biochemical traits related to salinity tolerance of wheat cultivars were evaluated as a f...
متن کاملAn Analysis of Spatial Pathology of the Physical and Social Structure of the City with Non-Relevant Defense Approach Case Study: Tehran Metropolitan Area
Using the passive defense principles in urban plans and projects is important in the context of land use planning, reinforced concrete, citizen education, and increasing urban resiliency. Observing and adhering to these principles will reduce the vulnerability of the city and citizens to security and military threats. Therefore, this study aims at evaluating the spatial pathology of the physica...

متن کاملThe Regression of Glioblastoma Multiforme is Time Dependent in Wild-Type Rat Xenograft Model
Introduction: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is an aggressive case of primary brain cancer which remains among the most fatal tumors worldwide. Although, some in vitro and in vivo models have been developed for a better understanding of GBM behavior; a natural model of GBM would improve the efficiency of experimental models to human GBM tumors. We aimed at the present study to examine the surviv...
